Pastor
Ron Adams is the pastor of Emmanuel Church Pentecostal (Apostolic) in Shelbyville, TN, where he has pastored for over
30 years. He is also the General Secretary of the Emmanuel Churches of Christ (Apostolic), headquartered in Donelson,
TN. Pastor Adams holds numerous seminars on Apostolic Truth as well as Biblical Concepts and Proper Spiritual Order,
geared toward both pastoral as well as lay ministries. In addition, Pastor Adams takes church groups on pilgrimages
to the Holy Land on an annual basis; an experience which truly brings the scriptures to life to all who make this journey.
UNDERSTANDING BIBLICAL CONCEPTS AND ORDER
One of the greatest
keys to understanding the powerful and manifold truths found in the Bible is being able to recognize the types and shadows
as well as the metaphors of the Old and New Testaments. Located in these types and shadows are numerous references to the
work of Jesus Christ as well as the church. With a closer inspection, we find so much more! The purpose of these studies is
to unlock many of the Biblical concepts contained in these types and shadows.
By studying the timeline of the Bible,
beginning in Genesis and following it through both the Old and New Testaments, we can begin to recognize not only the types,
shadows, and metaphors as they are revealed, but we can also obtain the knowledge of the concepts set forth in them as well.
As the revelatory Word of God is revealed into our hearts, the scriptures
explode with meaning and manifestation in our lives. We do not have to walk along in a fog; wondering about what the word
of God is saying to us.
By studying these concepts, not only will our spiritual lives be strengthened, but we will
develop a greater understanding of our relationship with Jesus Christ as well. We should follow the advice given by the Apostle
Paul in II Timothy 2:15. "Study to shew thyself approved unto God,
a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
