In June of 2009, we hosted a 10 day trip to the Holy Land through
Educational Opportunities Tours. It was a fantastic opportunity to see the land where Jesus walked, and the Patriarchs
of the Bible lived. The past came alive as we walked in the places from the Bible of both the Old and New Testaments. If
you have been thinking of making a pilgimage to the Holy Land, I would like to invite you to come along with us. We will be
making another trip, beginning on November 8th and going through November 17th of 2010. This trip will be an
expansion of last year's Holy Land Tour. We will be doing the "Jesus In
The Galilee Tour".
This is a comprehensive tour of Israel that every Christian should do. Don't miss out on this incredible pilgrimage.
We will spend the first four days of this tour in the Galilee area of Israel, the hub of two
and a half years of Jesus' ministry. This will truly be the Spiritual Journey of a Lifetime. Be sure to bring your
Bible, as well as your camera, and prepare to receive the memories that you will cherish forever!! The price for
this trip, including round-trip airfare between Nashville, Tn, and Tel Aviv, Israel, first class hotels,
breakfast and dinner daily, deluxe motorcoaches, profesional guides, and entrance fees to sites visited is only around
$3,100.00. This is an incredible value!! If you would like to request a complete information
packet, you may contact us through e-mail at ronadams@cafes.net, or you may write to us at Concepts In The Word, C/O Pastor
Ron Adams, 228 Woodland Drive, Shelbyville, TN 37160. Please join us on this incredible spiritual journey.
DAY 1 & DAY 2 - USA to the HOLY LAND: Your spiritual pilgrimage
begins as you depart the USA on an overnight flight. You will be welcomed to Tel Aviv, Israel by our airport representative
and transferred to your hotel. Travel to the countryside of the Galilee. Enjoy dinner before you
rest overnight in your Galilee hotel.
DAY 3 - Mount Arbel, Nazareth,
Mount of the Precipice, Nazareth Village: After a wonderful breakfast in your hotel, get
own our group's own personal travel coach and travel to Mount Arbel and walk along its
peak for a stunning view of the Sea of Galilee and the area in which Jesus ministered, with extended views
of Mount Hermon to the north and Mount Tabor to the south. This will be a magnificent photo opportunity. We will
visit Nazareth, the boyhood home of Jesus (Matthew 2: 23) and the Mount of the Precipice
where Luke describes how Jesus was rejected by those in the synagogue after He taught them. Filled with anger, they
"led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might
cast him down headlong" (Luke 4: 29). Explore Nazareth
Village, a living presentation of the life, times, and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth. DAY 4 - Hazor,
Tel Dan, Caesarea Philippi, Mount Hermon, the Golan Heights, Bethsaida: Explore Hazor,
one of the oldest archaeological sites in Israel. The 3,000 year old city was the inspiration for "The
Source", James Michener's epic history of the region. Here, Joshua fought against Jabin (Josh. 11: 1-11).
Hazor was later fortified by King Solomon. At nearby Tel Dan, see the mud brick arch constructed in
pre-Israelite (Canaanite) times and where The House of David fragment from the First Temple Period was discovered. Visit
Caesarea Philippi, where jesus traveled with His disciples and Peter made his great confession to Jesus,
"Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God"
(Matt. 16: 16). Continue on to Mount Hermon, the highest place in Israel and prominently mentioned
in Psalms 133. Travel on through the strategic tableland known as the Golan Heights. Not far
away is Bethsaida where Jesus chose five of His disciples (Matt. 4: 18-21; John 1: 39-51). DAY 5 - Kibbutz
Nof Ginnosar, Mount of Beatitudes, Capernaum, Kursi, Chorazim, Yardenit Baptismal Site: If you choose, you may enjoy an early devotion before breakfast and watch the sunrise over the Sea
of Galilee. Take in this awe-inspiring sight as you watch fishermen work the waters with their
nets much as in the time of Jesus. At Kibbutz Nof Ginnosar, you will learn about the "Ancient
Boat", a rare example of the kind of boat in which Jesus would have sailed. Visit the peaceful Mount
of Beatitudes which overlooks the Sea of Galilee. On this hill, Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount.
Ride across the waters to explore Capernaum, the center of Jesus' ministry. Visit the synagogue which
stands on the site where Jesus taught. Recall His teaching and preaching concerning the gospel of the kingdom (Matt.
4: 13, 23). Travel around to the eastern shore of the Sea of Galilee and visit Kursi, whereJesus cast
out evil spirits from a demon-possessed man and cast them into a herd of swine which ran violently down a steep hill and drowned
in the sea (Mark 5: 1-13). At the Yardenit Baptismal site, situated just downstream from where the
Jordan River flows out of the Sea of Galilee on its way to the Dead Sea, enjoy the peace and tranquility
of the natural surroundings and participate in a baptismal service in the river in which Christ was baptized by John the Baptist
(Mark 1: 9-11). Day 6 - Beit Shean, Gideon's Spring, Mount
Gilboa, Megiddo, Bethlehem: Travel to the ruins of Beit
Shean where the bodies of King Saul and his sons were displayed on the walls after they were killed
in battle (1 Sam. 21: 10-12). Beit Shean is also noted for having the best preserved ancient Roman theatre in Israel.
Nearby is Mount Gilboa where King Saul fought and died. His death made David lament and pray that no
dew would fall upon the mountain (2 Sam. 1: 19-27). Travel the ancient caravan route to Tel Megiddo
where 20 cities lie superimposed upon each other, and see the remains of King Soloman's stables there as well as the underground
tunnel built in the time of King Ahab to insure access to their water source which was outside of the city walls. Conclude
your day in Bethlehem, visit the cave where Jesus was born and the church, which has been constructed on
that site. Day 7 - Jerusalem, Mount of Olives,
Mount Zion, Upper Room, City of David, Garden of Gethsemane: In Jerusalem, stand atop
the Mount of Olives as Jesus did and enjoy a remarkable view of the "Golden City" of Jerusalem.
Forty days after His resurrection, Jesus ascended into heaven from the Mount of Olives (Acts 1: 9-12). Walk to theGarden
of Gethsemane via the Kidron Valley and pray there where Jesus prayed (Matt. 14: 12-26). Day 8 - Leisure Day with Optional tour to Caesarea,
The Emmaus Road and Ein Karem: Explore on your own or visit (additional charge) Caesarea,
where you will see the ancient Roman aqueduct and theatre. It was here that Cornelius and his houshold become the first
Gentile converts to Christianity (Acts 10). This is also where the Apostle Paul was held prior to his voyage to Rome
to appeal before Caesar. View the road of Emmaus where Jesus, after His resurrection, met two of His
disciples who did not recognize Him until He later broke bread with thenm in their home. Continue to Ein Karem,
traditionally known as the birthplace of John the Baptist, and where Mary journeyed to share with her cousin Elisabeth her
good news (Luke 1: 39-48). Day 9 - Southern
Wall Excavations, Teaching Steps, Western Wall, Pool of Bethesda, Via Dolorosa, and the Garden Tomb: Visit the
Davidson Center and the Southern Wall Excavations including the Teaching Steps and
the Western Wall. View the Pool of Bethesda (John 5: 1-31) where Jesus performed the
miracle of the man with palsy. Visit Herod's Antonia Fortress where Jesus was brought before Pontius
Pilate (Luke 23: 1-11). Walk the Via Dolorosa, the "Way of the Cross", and visit the Church
of the Holy Sepulchre. Visit the Garden Tomb, the possible site of the garden of Joseph of
Arimathea, and experience the reality of the Resurrection of Christ. Day 10 - Return to the USA
